Splint Work
Skin off, center peeled, flat rattan from
1/4"to 1"
wide usually woven in a basket weave. In years past
hand pounded and peeled Ash or Oak wood splint
was quite common.
It is still available today but in
limited quantity. The same
patterns are possible
as with binders cane.
